Largescale pojagi curtain panel made by Katherine Krehbiel of NAHH. Pojagi curtains are a Korean art form where pieces of fabric are repurposed and sewn together to create a fabric panel or curtain, reminiscent of stained glass. Traditionally made using linen, this panel has been artfully done using a mix of vintage fabrics.
Fabrics include light blue and off-white linen, 1940s era off-white lace, 1950s era dusty pink embroidered ribbon, 1950s light blue cafe curtain, vintage Japanese Ojiya Kasuri fabric, geometric black and white cotton, and hand dyed silk. Each component is hand cut and pieced together. You can see the artist’s hand within the piece.
